Where pipelines may be determined to have anomalies discovered by internal integrity inspections with “smart pigs”, our Dry Hyperbaric Repair Facilities can be used to conduct repairs to the outside of the affected pipelines.
We locate the anomaly using Differential GPS and surveying techniques, the pipe is uncovered and suspended sufficiently to allow the HRF to be positioned over it in a trench and to support the pipe at each end. Seals are inserted in the ends of the HRF and water is evacuated fro the inside and displaced by compressed air. Internal lighting and a video camera is used to monitor the inside and diver-welder technicians enter to begin working on the damaged segment.
The coating is removed and testing and evaluations begin. There are several repair options available to us, repair clamps, full encirclement sleeves, and removing and replacing pipe pup pieces if necessary.
