Pipeline IR&M

DOT Operator Qualification OQ Compliant

Stroud Diving & Hydrography has joined VeriForce, ISNetworld, and the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) to comply with the new DOT Operator Qualifications [OQ] requirements and we were ready in October 2002 as required. The company has an Evaluator [ VeriForce ] and Master Trainer with the National Center for Construction Education and Research [ NCCER ] on staff to Train, Assess and Evaluate employees.

The covered tasks list which the company employees must qualify on is quite extensive, including over 26 identified pipeline tasks which would be performed by divers or our topside personnel. We have personnel assessments for "Corrosion Technician I & II", "Pipeline Maintenance Technician I & II", and have developed a curriculum for training new employees in the future. The curricula will follow the NCCER guidelines and be a comprehensive program.

53 Years of Service to Pipeline Industry

The company has 53 years of service to the pipeline industry. We pioneered early river crossing inspection techniques and have led the industry in pipeline inspection services. We use a precision chart recording fathometer to map the river bed. The survey is controlled by an electronic Total Station with input from GPS as necessary.

Results from the field inspections are processed in a computer using AutoCAD software and the finished drawings are plotted for presentation to the client.

We have an active archive of drawings on pipeline crossings and facilities all across the Eastern USA. When pipelines or pipeline companies are sold or traded between owners, we can provide drawings to the new owners. Many times this valuable information is lost in the shuffle of the acquisition or merger.

Our Pipeline IR&M teams travel the US conducting the Inspection, Repair & Maintenance service on pipelines. We offer sample drawings and reports to you as a means of describing our services.

The company likes to assist pipeline maintenance and engineering personnel in the development of long term inspection programs. We divide the facilities over 3-5 years and conduct the inspections on 33% or 20% of the facilities each year. This divides the cost over that amount of time and makes budgeting for repairs simpler.

We can set up and maintain the inspection program for you. We'll notify you annually of the crossings which need attention and provide reports for your records.

DOT pipeline crossing inspections are our specialty.
